How does pay-as-you-go billing work?

You're billed monthly for the numbers you hold plus metered usage — calls per minute and messages per segment. There's no base fee and no minimum. Your $5 starter credit covers your first usage automatically.

What's the difference between self-hosted and managed calls?

Self-hosted calls ($0.13/min) let you bring your own LLM and run text inference over a WebSocket: Dial streams the live call transcript to a wss:// server you host and your model streams text responses back — Dial handles the speech and telephony, your server just does text in, text out (verifying Dial's request signature). Managed calls ($0.22/min) run end-to-end on Dial's hosted model, with built-in agent tools and any Context MCPs you've connected — no inference on your side. Both arrive on the same unified webhook.

How is regional SMS priced?

Each destination country is assigned to one of seven tiers based on its carrier costs and risk profile. You pay the per-segment rate for that tier — from $0.02 in Tier 1 up to $1.00 in Tier 7. US messages are always $0.02. Expand any tier above to see exactly which countries it covers.

What's included in the Enterprise plan?

Enterprise is priced against your committed volume rather than the published rates: numbers, calls, and messages are quoted for your workload. It also adds white-glove onboarding, a dedicated account manager, an uptime SLA with committed response times, and custom invoicing and terms. It runs on an annual agreement — schedule a call and we'll put together a quote.

Are there sending limits on iMessage?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each iMessage number can start 50 new conversations a day — a new conversation being the first message to a recipient that number hasn't messaged before, so replies inside an existing thread don't count. That allowance is per number, so each number you hold gets its own. Sends past the cap are rejected until the window resets. Sustained overall volume is capped separately, so talk to us with your expected daily volume before building a high-volume iMessage workload. Separately, iMessage itself limits how much you can send to someone who has never replied to you; that lifts as soon as they reply. SMS and voice numbers aren't affected.

Do I need a credit card to start?

Accepted Answer

No. Every account starts with $5 of credit and no card on file. You can provision a number, place calls, and send messages right away — add a payment method only when you're ready to scale.

Can I move to Enterprise later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Start on pay-as-you-go — there's nothing to migrate. When your volume justifies committed rates, schedule a call and we'll move your existing account and numbers onto an Enterprise agreement.
